Lessons Learned:Lesson 1- New Testament Class
LUKE 1:5-80. THE BIRTH OF JOHN THE BAPTIST
Read Luke 1:14 and write what Zacharias was told about the birth of his son, John the Baptist.
That Zacharias would have joy and gladness and that many people would rejoice when his son John the Baptist was born.
Study Luke 1: 5-25, 39-45, 56-80, and the Bible Dictionary entry: “John the Baptist” (pp. 714-15). Write a paragraph summarizing the reasons many people would rejoice over John the Baptist’s birth and mission.
There were many reasons why many people rejoice over John the Baptist’s birth and mission. The first reason is because his parents were old and have given up any hope of having any children, so they (particularly his mother) were so happy to be blessed with a son.
Another reason is that he was filled with the Holy Ghost from before his birth, so I believe he was a joy to everyone he knew while he was growing up.
He also had a mission to help prepare the way for Christ to come and to turn the way for Christ to come and to turn the hearts of the people to the Lord. He also helped to turn the hearts of the fathers and children to turn to each other, and help the disobedient to become wise and obedient. He taught a knowledge of salvation and baptized people for the remission of their sins.
My Thoughts
It is important to recognize the great contributions that John the Baptist made while on this Earth. He was such a good example of being true and faithful to the Lord until the end, no matter how difficult that road became. His example gives me great strength and hope that I can do hard things and that I can remain faithful and strong as long as I put my trust in the Lord.
