About Me

My name is Tenille and I am a happily married mother of five beautiful children, ranging from age 16-6.  They keep me on my toes and I do my best to just keep up with them all.  I started this blog to keep a record of my experiences and what I am learning while I go back to school to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design and Development with an emphasis in Development.

My Faith

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am so thankful for the joy and happiness that I have gained from learning and living by the principles taught in this church.  I invite all that are interested to learn a little more about the Church.  You can find a wealth of valuable information about what we believe at this site: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist.

My Testimony
I feel so blessed to have the gospel in my life and I want to share what an impact knowing the gospel and living the gospel standards has had on my life.

My parents have been members of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since before I was born, so I have always had it in my life.  However, I did not always appreciate it or understand it.  When I was a child it was just part of life.  It was what you knew, how you lived, and what you did.  When I was a teenager I fluctuated between resenting it and loving it.  After my first child was born, I came to a point that I really needed to know if it was true or not.  I finally took the time to really learn what was being taught and to study and try to understand it.  I wanted to know for myself if it was true.

After I took the time to study and understand the gospel and why we should live the way that was being taught, I gained a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel.  I not only knew that it was true, but that it was powerful force for good in my life.  When you invite the Lord into your life, and humble yourself enough to do as He asks, your life changes forever.  I became a happier, stronger, and kinder person.  I wanted to serve others and wasn’t so focused on my problems.  I was able to more easily see the good in my life, myself, and in those around me.

Over time, I have become more aware that the Lord has blessed me with help and guidance throughout my life.  He can help us more when we are willing to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and when we keep His commandments.  I learned that He loves each of us so much, and that He is just waiting to bless us, if we will just let Him.  I know that God lives, and that He is intimately aware of each of us and the details of our lives.  We are not just a mass of people to Him, but we are each a unique individual, who He knows and loves, and wants to help make it back to live with Him again.  I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He came to Earth to be our example and to atone for our sins.  He paid the ultimate price for all of our mistakes, heartaches, and pain because He loves us so much.  He is our brother, our friend, and our Savior.  I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.  It is not meant to replace the Bible, but to add to it, and to be another witness of Jesus Christ, and of God’s love and awareness of all of us on this Earth.  I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he did in fact see God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ in a grove of trees in upstate New York one spring morning in 1820.  God appeared again to man to help us and to teach us.  The fullness of the gospel had been lost over time after the death of Jesus Christ and His apostles and needed to be restored to the Earth again.

I hope that anyone who reads this will choose not to be defensive or critical of what I have shared, but will be willing to find out for yourself if what I have said is true.  That is one of the most amazing things about the gospel!  You don’t have to completely rely on someone else’s testimony.  If you truly want to know and you read the Book of Mormon, learn about the gospel, and pray to our Father in Heaven to know if it is true, He WILL answer you.  It might not be an overwhelming feeling or some great vision, but you will feel a sense of peace and love from your Father in Heaven that will help you to know that He is there, and that He is aware of YOU, and that the gospel is true.  I know that your life will be better if you live the teachings of the gospel.  It will not be perfect, or free from worry or pain, but it will be better.  I have experienced this in my own life and know the impact the gospel can have on your life.  I know that Heavenly Father loves me and is aware of my wants and needs, and that He is helping me to learn and grow, so that I can become the best I can be.  I am thankful for the joy this knowledge gives me and the peace it has brought into my life.  I hope that you can find this same joy and peace in your life as well.  I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
